ATT plants are not necessarily small, but some designs available for UK communities have been designed for small-scale projects.
Energos of the ENER-G group have 6 plants abroad that are based on gasification technology. The picture below shows the Norwegian Stavanger plant which processes 32,000 tonnes per year of household waste. The plant provides 2 Megawatts of electricity and 3 Megawatts of heat for the local district heating network. |



The picture shows the only ATT plant in the UK at the moment, built by Compact Power of Bristol. It processes 7,500 tonnes of clinical waste a year. The company is currently building a 30,000 tonnes per year plant with Bristol City Council, which will provide 2 Megawatts of electricity or 8 Megawatts of heat to nearby industry.
