Before commencing his PhD, he was employed by ECOTEC Research and Consulting, where he was closely involved in renewable energy and sustainability policy projects for the EU DG Tren and several UK county councils. He has an MSc in Renewable Energy Systems Technology from Loughborough University, and a BA (Hons) in Environmental Management from the University of Leeds. It was during this time he found an interest in the issues surrounding alternative energy generation facilities and climate change. David now plans to pursue a career in the management of energy from waste and biomass facility projects that meet the objectives of sustainable development and help the UK meet its renewable energy and landfill diversion targets. To this end, he now works in consultancy for Beyond Waste Ltd.
